Successful safari day 1!

The team had a really good day today on safari. They saw zebra, giraffe, cheetah, lion and elephant! Not bad for day 1!

Then on to Twiga Lodge where everyone enjoyed hot showers and sit down toilets for the first time in 11 days! Dinner followed,  with quizzes and games afterwards.

Sorry, no photos today - our leaders don't have internet access, but they have promised they will send lots of pics tomorrow, after day 2 of safari...

Final day celebrations

It was the last day on the project site for the group today... they finished the classroom, which is looking great!

They had a fantastic leaving ceremony, with lots of singing and dancing from both the locals and the St Dunstan's students. Everyone was given a certificate from the town councillor for all of their hard work and a 'Tanzanian' bag from Livingstone Tanzania Trust to say thank you.

The group were then treated to a slide show of photographs from their trip, put together by their Inspire leaders which, although left everyone sad to be leaving Babati, also showed them just how much they have achieved!

Everyone is looking forward to the first day of safari tomorrow!

Success in the classroom and on the netball court!

Apologies that our leaders are having   problems sending photographs again today. They will try a different method tomorrow, so watch this space!

The classroom the team have been working on now really looks like a classroom, with white painted walls and windows. It will look great with the multi coloured benches and tables they have painted as well.

In the afternoon they played volleyball and netball against a local school. They were outclassed in the volleyball but led the way with the netball! Later they had a delicious dinner of spaghetti followed by a practice of tomorrow's celebration ceremony song and dance. Hopefully some photographs coming soon...
